About
My Name is Sebastian Schaetz, I’m a computer scientist, software freedom and privacy activist. In my work I focus on bridging the gap between science and high performance computing. I am interested in enabling scientists to utilize the full potential of special-purpose computer architectures such as the Cell processor, multi-GPU and ARM-based systems. I am also a C++ enthusiast. From time to time I give talks about my projects. I am currently employed at the BiomedNMR in Germany working on exciting projects in the field of medical imaging.
I wrote my diploma thesis about the “Hybrid implementation of an
iterative reconstruction algorithm for Positron Emission Tomography sinograms on CPUs and GPUs“. Google Scholar has a list of my other publications.
